Entity Blacklist
Generate an alert if a user or business has an attributes that comes from a matchlist/blacklist (a list your organization generates/maintains of fraudulent users/businesses).
Best for:
- Matching against a list of known suspicious information
General Example:
For example, an entity might be suspicious if it has the name "Lucky Corp" and the name "Luckys Corp" is blacklisted.
How It Works:
Make sure that you have previously added a blacklist in the Matchlist page of your Dashboard and follow the steps:
- Select the blacklist. A menu will pop up.
- Select any item you want to match. You can match against any field such as country, business name, corporate tax id, ssn, date of birth and anything else that can be compared to a Unit21 field.
- Select "fuzzy match" if you want an "approximate match" for the item (i.e Lucky Corp would get flagged if Luckies Corp is in the list).

Blacklist String (Entities/Instruments)
Generate an alert if a user or institution uses your platform from a known blacklisted IP address.
Best for:
- Matching against a list of known suspicious locations
General Example:
For example, an entity might be suspicious if it transacts money on your platform from IP address 167.34.260.2, a known blacklisted IP from Cuba maintained in a blacklist by your organization.
How It Works:
Make sure that you have previously added a matchlist in the Matchlist page of your Dashboard. Then, select from the dropdown menu to complete the logic.

Blacklist String (Events)
Generate an alert if a user or institution uses your platform from a known blacklisted IP address.
Best for:
- Matching against a list of known suspicious online IP addresses
Quick Example:
For example, an entity might be suspicious if it transacts money on your platform from IP address 167.34.260.2, a known blacklisted IP from Cuba maintained in a blacklist by your organization.
How It Works:
Make sure that you have previously added a matchlist in the Matchlist page of your dashboard. Then, select from the dropdown menu to complete the logic.

Country-subdivision Blacklist/Whitelist
Generate an alert if a user or institution uses your platform from a known blacklisted state.
Best for:
- Matching against a list of known states from USA
General Example:
For example, an entity might be suspicious if it transacts money on your platform from California (the sale of this wild plant is not allowed in CA).
How It Works:
Make sure that you have previously added a state matchlist in the Matchlist page of your dashboard. Then, select from the dropdown menu to complete the logic.

IP Blacklist (Global)
Generate an alert if a user or institution uses your platform from a known blacklisted IP address.
Best for:
- Matching against a list of globally Unit21 maintained fraudulent IP addresses and domains.
General Example:
For example, an entity might be suspicious if it transacts money on your platform from IP address 145.89.230.2, a known blacklisted IP from Beirut maintained in a global blacklist by Unit21.
How It Works:
Select from the dropdown menu to complete the logic.
