Censorship

Unit21 can censor any private information by masking data fields related to entities, instruments, transactions, action events, and alerts. The censorship conditions can be applied 'org wide' or target specific teams or agents.

How To Setup Censorship Settings

  1. Go to Data Management and select Data Settings. There is a Censorship setting column for each data field, with the default being 'Always Visible'. The list of possible includes:
    1. Always visible - everyone can see this data value
    2. Censored but viewable - this value is censored but viewable when clicked for everyone
    3. Censored - this value is censored for everyone by default. You can select which teams or agents can uncensor this value.
  1. Click on three dots and click Edit on the data field you would like to update.

  1. Scroll down to Censorship Settings to select the desired setting; the options are:
    1. Always visible - everyone can see this data value
    2. Censored but viewable - this value is censored but viewable when clicked for everyone
    3. Censored - this value is censored for everyone by default. You can select which teams or agents can uncensor this value.

How To Interact With Censored Fields

When a field is censored but viewable, there will be an eye icon on the left hand side. The field will also be clickable. The value can be toggled to viewable and censored by clicking it, similar to the 'Hide Password' toggle in many login experiences.

When a field is censored and not viewable, there will be no eye icon and it will not be clickable or viewable.
